The Foundever Assessment: What the Maki Test Asks and How to Prepare

The Foundever assessment is the online skills test that Foundever, the company formerly called Sitel, emails you after you apply for a customer service job. The invite comes from an @makipeople.com or @foundever.com address, because the test runs on Maki, an assessment platform. Foundever says it typically includes personality tests, language tests, customer service scenarios and job-specific tests like typing. Most Maki activities are timed, and each one can be taken only once. If you pass, a recruiter contacts you to schedule an interview. OphyAI Customer Service helps with the scenario, chat and personality parts, live or in practice.

Foundever assessment at a glance

From Foundever's careers pages and Maki's candidate help center, checked November 6, 2026. Foundever does not say which Maki activities its US assessment uses, so your invite and the first screen of each activity tell you what you get.

Who runs itFoundever, formerly Sitel Group, which took the Foundever name on March 1, 2023. The test runs on Maki (MakiPeople)
How you get itAn email invite from @makipeople.com or @foundever.com. Foundever says it arrives within seconds or minutes of applying for a customer service job
What Foundever says it coversPersonality tests, language tests, customer service scenarios, and job-specific tests like typing
TimingMost Maki activities are timed, with a countdown on screen. Personality and video activities are not
DeviceMaki recommends the latest Google Chrome on a desktop or laptop. Typing tests need a desktop
FullscreenIf an activity requires fullscreen and you leave it, you get a warning. Leave again and the test ends
BreaksNone inside an activity. You can pause between activities until the invite expires
RetakesEach activity can be taken once. Maki allows a retake only after a technical issue, and reuses your result if you took the same activity in the past six months
ScoresNo pre-set passing score. Results go to Foundever and recruiters decide. Maki cannot share your score
Next stepIf you pass, a Foundever recruiter contacts you by phone, email or text to schedule an interview

Foundever assessment question types

Foundever lists four kinds of tests, and Maki's help center describes several of the activities behind them. Your invite shows which ones you get.

Customer service scenarios

Foundever lists customer service scenarios. Maki says its library includes situational and soft-skills tests, and some of its tests give the most points to the best answer and fewer to the next best.

Tip: The best answer usually solves the problem for the customer within the rules. Since the next best can still earn points, always pick the strongest option, not just a safe one.

Chat proficiency

Maki's Chat Proficiency test is timed: you pick from prewritten replies to customer messages, sometimes with several customers waiting. Maki scores accuracy, efficiency, understanding of the context, adaptability and multitasking.

Tip: Read the whole message first, then pick the reply that is clear, accurate and solves the actual need.

Personality tests

Statements about how you work. Foundever lists personality tests, and Maki leaves personality activities untimed so you have time to think.

Tip: Answer with a support job in mind: patience, steadiness and care for people. Stay consistent when an idea comes back.

Language tests

Foundever lists language tests. Maki scores open-ended language activities with AI against the CEFR scale, and spoken ones can include pronunciation.

Tip: Use a quiet room and a good microphone, and speak at a normal pace.

Typing and job-specific tests

Foundever names typing as an example of a job-specific test. Maki says typing tests need a desktop computer.

Tip: Practice short timed passages on the keyboard you will use, and keep your errors low.

Video and Flash Interview

Foundever mentions self-recorded interviews. Maki offers recorded video questions and a Flash Interview, where an avatar asks job questions and you answer by recording your voice or picking a multiple-choice option.

Tip: Your camera and microphone must work before it starts. Treat it like a live interview: quiet, well-lit room, one specific example per answer.

Foundever assessment example questions and answers

Written by us in the formats Foundever and Maki describe, never copied from the real test. Try each one before you read the answer.

Example 1 · Customer scenario: best response

A customer calls because their subscription renewed and charged them, but they say they canceled last month.

Pick the best response.

  1. A"Our records show no cancellation, so the charge stands."
  2. B"I'm sorry about the surprise charge. Let me check your account history for the cancellation and see what I can do about this renewal."
  3. C"You'll need to dispute it with your bank."
  4. D"I can't help with billing questions."

Best: B.

B shows empathy, takes ownership and checks the facts before deciding. A decides before looking, and C and D send the customer somewhere else.

Example 2 · Chat: pick the reply

Chat. The order has not shipped yet, and your tools let you edit it. The customer writes: "I ordered the wrong size. Can I swap it before it ships?"

Pick the best reply.

  1. A"Please wait for delivery and then start a return."
  2. B"Yes, it hasn't shipped yet. Which size would you like? I'll update it now."
  3. C"Sizes can't be changed after ordering."

Best: B.

B uses what you are allowed to do and fixes it in one step. A makes the customer do a return they do not need, and C is not true here.

Example 3 · Chat: two customers at once

You have two chats open. Customer 1 just wrote "thanks, that's all." Customer 2 wrote "Hello?? I've been waiting 5 minutes."

What do you do first?

  1. AWrite Customer 1 a long, friendly goodbye before anything else.
  2. BSend Customer 1 a quick thank-you and close the chat, then apologize to Customer 2 and ask about their issue.
  3. CReply to Customer 2 and leave Customer 1's chat open.

Best: B.

B wraps up one chat in seconds and gets to the waiting customer fast, which is the multitasking skill chat tests look for. A keeps Customer 2 waiting, and C leaves a loose end.

Example 4 · Most and least effective

A caller asks for the balance on their sister's account so they can pay it for her. They are not listed on the account.

Pick the most effective and the least effective response.

  1. AShare the balance, since it is family.
  2. BExplain you can only discuss the account with the account holder or an authorized user, and offer a way for her to pay or add them.
  3. CPut them on hold and never come back.

Most effective: B. Least effective: A.

B protects the customer's privacy and still offers a path forward. A breaks a privacy rule, which customer service tests treat as the most serious mistake. C is rude, but it does not leak data.

Example 5 · Personality: agree or disagree

"I stay calm when someone is rude to me."

Choose from strongly disagree to strongly agree.

  1. AStrongly disagree
  2. BDisagree
  3. CNeutral
  4. DAgree
  5. EStrongly agree

Stronger fit for customer service: Agree or Strongly agree.

Foundever's own interview tips ask you to show how you stay calm with upset customers. Answer honestly, and answer the same way when this idea comes back in other words.

Example 6 · Flash Interview: spoken answer

The avatar asks: "A customer is shouting about a late refund. What do you say first?"

Pick the best opening line.

  1. A"Please stop shouting or I will have to end the call."
  2. B"I'm really sorry this refund is taking so long. Let me check exactly where it is right now."
  3. C"Refunds take 7 to 10 days, so it isn't late yet."

Best: B.

B names the frustration and moves straight to action, which calms most callers. A threatens the customer, and C argues with them before you know the facts.

How the Foundever assessment is scored, and what happens next

Foundever publishes no passing score, and Maki says its assessments have no pre-set passing score: each hiring team sets its own bar, and a low score does not automatically rule you out. Scoring depends on the activity. Some activities mark each answer right or wrong. Others give the most points to the best answer and fewer to the next best. Open-ended language activities and structured interviews are scored with AI against set scales, such as CEFR for language.

Results go straight to Foundever. Maki says it is not involved in hiring decisions and cannot share your score; some recruiters email it a few days after you finish. Foundever says that if you pass, a recruiter contacts you by phone, email or text to schedule your interview. Its applicant steps page, which still calls the process Sitel's, says to expect to hear from a recruiter within 24 business hours of submitting your application.

Maki says AI never makes the hiring decision. Its AI voice interviewer, Mochi, only runs screening conversations and collects answers, and people review any proctoring flags. Foundever does not say whether its US process uses Mochi.

How to prepare for the Foundever assessment

  1. Step 1

    Watch for the invite

Check your inbox and spam folder for an email from @makipeople.com or @foundever.com, and note the expiry date. Maki cannot reopen an expired invite.

  2. Step 2

    Use Chrome on a computer

Maki recommends the latest Google Chrome on a desktop or laptop, and typing tests need a desktop. Allow camera and microphone access, and close other apps.

  3. Step 3

    Try the trial run

Some Maki assessments have a "Trial run" button on the presentation page. Use it before the real activities so the format is not a surprise.

  4. Step 4

    Practice scenarios and chats

Work through the examples above. In chat activities, read the whole message, then pick the reply that solves the actual need.

  5. Step 5

Do each activity in one go

Once a timer starts it cannot be paused. Take breaks only between activities, and finish before the invite expires.

Is the Foundever assessment proctored?

Maki offers proctoring that employers can use: webcam snapshots, tab-focus logs, IP records and device fingerprints, with checks for whether your face is present, more than one face, tab switching, leaving fullscreen, and phones or second screens. Maki also says it combines gaze and speech patterns to flag scripted or AI-assisted answers. Each session gets a risk level from Clear to High, and Maki says proctoring results never disqualify you on their own: recruiters review them. Foundever does not say which of these it turns on.

Rules you will see either way: most activities are timed from the start, there is no pause inside an activity, and some activities require fullscreen, where leaving twice ends the test. Each activity can be taken once, a retake is possible only after a technical problem Maki confirms, and an expired invite cannot be reopened. Camera and microphone must work for video activities.

Foundever assessment answers, AI help and cheating

Are there Foundever assessment answers online?

No official ones. Foundever and Maki do not publish their questions, and the social media posts, PDFs and flashcards that claim to have Foundever answers are not the real test. Maki also says it uses item randomization and answer rotation, so a question may not look the same twice. OphyAI Customer Service reads the actual question on your screen and shows the best answer.

Can AI help on the Foundever assessment?

Yes, on the scenario, chat, personality and video parts. OphyAI Customer Service picks the best response in customer scenarios, the strongest reply in chat activities, keeps personality answers consistent and gives short scripts for spoken answers. Use Chrome on a computer or the Mac or Windows desktop app. It does not take the typing test and is not built for the language or cognitive activities.

Can Foundever tell if you use AI on the assessment?

Maki, which runs the test, offers proctoring that can take webcam snapshots, log tab switches and fullscreen exits, spot phones or second screens, and flag answers that look scripted or AI-assisted from gaze and speech patterns. Foundever does not say which checks it uses, and Maki says a person reviews every flag. On OphyAI's side: it does not work inside lockdown or proctored browsers, it does not take typing-speed tests, and hiding a window from screen share does not hide it from a webcam, a person in the room, or proctoring software.

Compare every platform: Can online assessments detect AI?

OphyAI on the web and on Mac and Windows

OphyAI Customer Service and the Foundever assessment

OphyAI Customer Service reads each question of an online customer service assessment on your screen and shows the best answer in a small window only you can see. Practice mode gives you realistic mock tests that explain why each option is better or worse.

Use OphyAI Customer Service on the real Foundever assessment, not just for practice. Maki recommends Chrome and OphyAI works in Chrome, so share the test tab once in Chrome on a computer, or run it in the OphyAI desktop app for Mac and Windows. Each customer scenario gets the best response, or the most and least effective picks, in seconds. In chat activities it picks the strongest prewritten reply, and if an item asks you to type, it writes a ready-to-paste reply with a Copy button. Personality statements get answers kept consistent, and video or Flash Interview questions get a short script to say. In the desktop app, Listen picks up customer clips the test plays.

What it does not do: it does not take the typing test, and it is not built for the language tests or cognitive activities such as Maki's perceptual speed test. Call center is one of the six job types in practice mode: try the free 3-question sample, or a practice test of 5, 10 or 20 questions for 5 credits.

Most and least effective

Most: B

Least: A

B shows care and owns the problem within the rules. A shuts her down.

What you see

Works in Chrome or Edge on a computer and in the OphyAI desktop app for Mac and Windows. It is not in the iPhone or Android apps. A free 3-question sample is open to anyone with a free OphyAI account, on any plan, with no credits. Customer Service is on the Premium plan ($59 a month, 500 credits). A live session uses 15 credits and stays open 2 hours; a practice test uses 5 credits. See everything it does

What it is hidden from, and what it is not

It does not work inside lockdown or proctored browsers, it does not take typing-speed tests, and hiding a window from screen share does not hide it from a webcam, a person in the room, or proctoring software.

Foundever assessment questions

Yes. Sitel Group renamed itself Foundever on March 1, 2023, after buying SYKES in 2021. Some Foundever career pages still say Sitel, so a Sitel assessment today is the Foundever assessment.

Maki is the assessment platform behind the Foundever test. Foundever's how-to-apply page says the invite comes from @makipeople.com or @foundever.com, and Maki says Foundever partners with it globally. Maki hosts the test but does not make hiring decisions.

Foundever does not publish a total time. Each Maki activity shows its time limit before you start and a countdown while you work, and the limit covers the whole activity, not each question.

Only after a technical problem. Maki says each activity can be completed once, and a retake is considered only if a technical issue affected you. If you take the same Maki activity again within six months, your earlier result is reused.

There is no published one. Maki says its assessments have no pre-set passing score, and Foundever's recruiters decide based on your results and the rest of your application.

Maki strongly recommends a desktop or laptop with the latest Chrome, and typing tests require a desktop. Its Flash Interview activity works on mobile. OphyAI Customer Service runs on a computer, not on phones.

Foundever says that if you pass, a recruiter will contact you "very soon" by phone, email or text to schedule an interview. Maki cannot share your score or status, so contact Foundever for updates.

Foundever's own tips: introduce yourself briefly, know why you want to work there, use the STAR method for challenges, show empathy and problem solving, explain how you stay calm with upset customers, and show how you multitask and stay organized.
