The web app still works with no install. The desktop app does three things a browser tab cannot.
In the browser, Whisper Mode is a picture-in-picture window, so a full-screen share can pick it up. On desktop, macOS and Windows leave the answer window out of screen sharing and recording, so you can share your entire screen and the interviewer sees what is behind it.
The app listens to your computer’s system audio, so it hears Zoom, Meet, Teams or Webex without tab sharing, a virtual audio cable or any setup.
The answer window stays on top of full-screen calls, code editors and slides, on every desktop, and never steals focus from the meeting app.
One answer beat at a time, set large at the top of the screen, so your eyes stay close to the lens instead of drifting to a corner.
Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + H hides every OphyAI window instantly. Press it again and everything comes back where it was.
Turn on click-through and your mouse passes straight through the answer window, so you can keep typing in your editor or clicking in the call.

Run this once before your interview, on the same computer and meeting app you will use.
Download for Mac or Windows and sign in with your OphyAI account. On a Mac, allow microphone and screen recording access when asked: that is how the app hears the meeting audio.
Open Zoom, Meet or Teams, start a meeting with just yourself and share your entire screen. Start a local recording if your app allows it.
Press Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + Space. You will see it on your screen. Check the shared preview or the recording: it is not there.

The answer window is excluded from screen sharing and recording by the operating system (macOS window sharing set to none, Windows display affinity set to exclude from capture). Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams see what is behind it, not the window.
Hiding a window from screen share does not hide it from a camera pointed at your screen, someone in the room, or proctoring software that inspects running apps. Check your employer's rules on AI tools before a live interview.

Not with the desktop app. The answer window is excluded from capture by the operating system: on macOS its sharing type is set to none, and on Windows its display affinity is set to exclude it from capture. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex capture what is behind it, even when you share your entire screen. No tool can honestly promise that, and we do not. The window is hidden from screen sharing and screen recording. It is still visible to a camera pointed at your screen, to anyone in the room, and possibly to proctoring software that lists the apps running on your computer. Your eyes moving to read are visible on camera too, which is why the Teleprompter layout sits near the top of the screen. Check your employer's rules on AI tools before a live interview.
