The HireQuotient Assessment: What to Expect and How to Prepare

A HireQuotient assessment is an online hiring test built on HireQuotient's EasyAssess platform. Depending on the employer it can include role-based skills tests (20-35 minutes), cognitive ability tests (15-25 minutes), coding challenges (30-60 minutes), situational judgment (15-20 minutes) and one-way video questions (10-20 minutes). HireQuotient says its tests are proctored with webcam snapshots, tab-switch detection and full-screen enforcement, and it checks for copied or AI-generated answers. Results go straight to the employer.

HireQuotient assessment question types

HireQuotient lists ten aptitude tests in its library. An employer picks a battery, and HireQuotient can also build a custom test for the role.

Numerical reasoning and data interpretation

HireQuotient lists ratios, tables and graphs, conversions, compound interest, profit and loss, number series, percentages and work-and-time problems.

Tip: Know the formulas for percentage change, profit and loss, and compound interest before you start.

Verbal reasoning

Questions on understanding and reasoning with written information.

Tip: Stick to what the text says, not what you know about the topic.

Logical and analytical reasoning

Logical reasoning, analytical skills and critical thinking: rules, sequences and arguments.

Tip: Write out the rule you think you found, then test it against every option.

Abstract and spatial reasoning

Abstract reasoning, spatial reasoning and Raven's Progressive Matrices: shape patterns and missing pieces in a grid.

Tip: Read the grid by rows, then by columns, and check the rule both ways.

Situational judgment

Realistic workplace scenarios that show how you respond under pressure, ambiguity and conflict, 15-20 minutes.

Tip: Pick the response a strong employee would actually take, not the one that avoids every risk.

One-way video

Recorded answers to set questions, transcribed, summarized and scored by AI, 10-20 minutes.

Tip: Structure each answer: the situation, what you did, and the result, in about a minute.

How HireQuotient scores your assessment

HireQuotient scores tests automatically the moment you submit and says results usually reach the employer within 24 hours. The employer sees an overall fit score, a breakdown by skill, a full report with your answers and timings, and a hire or no-hire signal benchmarked against norms for the role.

HireQuotient does not publish whether candidates see their own results, so assume only the employer does unless your invitation says otherwise.

How to prepare for the HireQuotient assessment

  1. Step 1

Find out which tests are in the battery

The invitation or the first screen should list the tests and timings. A cognitive test and a coding challenge need different prep, so ask the recruiter if it is not clear.

  2. Step 2

Practice each type on a timer

Cognitive tests run 15-25 minutes. Work through numerical, verbal, logical and abstract sets at test pace, using free official practice from tests like the CCAT and PI to learn the formats.

  3. Step 3

    Treat every answer as final

HireQuotient does not say whether you can go back, and some of its tests adapt to your answers. Read carefully, answer, and move on.

  4. Step 4

    Set up for proctoring

Use a laptop with a working webcam, stay in full screen, close other tabs, and make sure you will not be interrupted.

Is the HireQuotient assessment proctored, and can it detect cheating?

HireQuotient says its assessments use webcam snapshots, tab-switch detection, full-screen enforcement and randomized question pools. Its comparison pages also claim image, video and audio proctoring for EasyAssess; which of these apply depends on the employer's setup.

It also checks response patterns for copied, AI-generated or duplicated answers and puts anything suspicious on the employer's report rather than silently scoring it.

HireQuotient assessment answers, AI help and cheating

Are there HireQuotient answers online?

No. HireQuotient uses randomized question pools and some of its tests adapt to your answers, so there is no fixed answer key, including for the BCG version. For multiple-choice questions on your screen, OphyAI Aptitude Test shows the answer and a one-line reason.

Can AI help on a HireQuotient assessment?

On the cognitive tests, yes: OphyAI Aptitude Test reads each numerical, verbal, logical, abstract or spatial question and shows the answer in a popup hidden from screen sharing. It is not for video answers, coding or situational judgment.

Can HireQuotient detect cheating or AI?

HireQuotient says it uses webcam snapshots, tab-switch detection, full-screen enforcement and randomized question pools, and checks response patterns for copied or AI-generated answers. OphyAI's popup is hidden from screen sharing and recording, but not from a webcam, a person in the room, proctoring software that inspects your computer, or a supervised retest.

OphyAI Desktop for Mac and Windows

OphyAI Aptitude Test and the HireQuotient assessment

Aptitude Test mode in the OphyAI desktop app reads each multiple-choice question on your screen and shows the answer, with a one-line reason, in a small popup only you can see.

Use OphyAI Aptitude Test on your real HireQuotient assessment, not just for practice. Start a test in the desktop app, open the HireQuotient assessment and turn on Auto: each question is answered as it loads, with the option to pick and a one-line reason, in a popup that macOS and Windows leave out of screen sharing and recording. Or press Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + A on any question.

It covers the cognitive tests (numerical, verbal, logical, abstract, spatial), not video answers, coding or situational judgment. HireQuotient says it watches the webcam, tab switches and full screen and checks for AI-generated answers.
