Interview Solver Review 2026: $59 a Month, 10 Free Messages, Limits
Is Interview Solver worth it? A fair review: $59 a month or $149 for 3 months, a 10-message free trial, Mac and Windows, coding-first, limited refunds.
Last updated: October 2026
Quick Answer and Verdict: Is Interview Solver Worth It?
Interview Solver is a Mac and Windows desktop app for live coding interviews: you screenshot the problem with a hotkey and it returns commented code, reasoning and system design flowcharts, with interviewer audio transcribed as context. Regular pricing is $59 a month or $149 for 3 months, with a 10-message free trial and no card (checked October 19, 2026). An October sale cuts those to $39 and $90 until October 28.
Who it fits: software engineers whose remaining rounds are coding and system design. Who it does not fit: anyone with behavioral or recruiter rounds who also wants practice and resume help. For that group, OphyAI Interview Copilot gives live help in any round on the web or in Mac and Windows desktop apps, Interview Practice runs mock interviews, and Premium adds Coding Interview.
| Checked Oct 19, 2026 | Best for | Price | Free way in |
|---|---|---|---|
| Interview Solver | Coding and system design rounds | $59 a month or $149 per 3 months (sale $39 or $90 until Oct 28) | 10 desktop messages plus one 10-minute phone session, no card |
| OphyAI | Live help for any round plus practice and resume tools | Pro $29 (300 credits); Premium $59 (500 credits, includes Coding Interview) | First Copilot session up to 15 minutes for eligible new users, no card |

What Interview Solver Is
Interview Solver, Inc.’s own summary calls it “an AI interview copilot and technical interview preparation platform for software engineering candidates.” The core product is a native desktop app; around it sit a phone mode and a large library of free coding-question pages.
| Detail | What Interview Solver’s own pages say |
|---|---|
| How it reads the problem | A hotkey sends a screenshot of the chosen screen or window, or selected text, to the AI |
| Answers | Code with every line commented, plus a few sentences of reasoning |
| System design | Flowcharts and system design diagrams with syntax highlighting |
| Audio | Transcribes both the interviewer’s voice and yours (system and mic audio) |
| Your documents | Upload a resume, project docs or a job description to ground answers |
| Companion mode | A phone or tablet browser mirrors the desktop app and sends commands remotely |
| Interview Solver Mobile | Runs in a phone browser, listens through the phone microphone, answers any topic |
| Meeting apps named | Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and browser-based platforms |
| Devices | macOS and Windows desktop app (a Windows ARM64 build is linked in its site code) |
It also publishes free prep material: company question pages and one-off tools such as an ATS resume checker and a STAR method builder.
Interview Solver Pricing (Checked October 19, 2026)
Interview Solver has two paid plans with the same feature list, plus a free trial. No usage cap is published for the paid plans, and no annual plan is shown.
| Plan | Regular price | October sale (ends Oct 28, 2026) | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free trial | $0, no credit card | Same | Desktop app limited to 10 AI messages; separately, one 10-minute Interview Solver Mobile session per account |
| Monthly | $59 a month | $39 a month | Every feature, including Companion mode and Mobile; “One interview loop this month.” |
| Interview Cycle | $149 every 3 months (about $50 a month by our math) | $90 every 3 months (“That’s $30/mo”) | Same features; marked “Most Popular” |
Other pricing details from its pages:
- Sale price lock. The sale cards say “Your price stays the same while you’re subscribed.” After October 28, check whether the regular $59 and $149 prices apply.
- Auto-renewal. Plans renew until you turn off auto-renew in the Stripe billing portal (“Manage Subscription”); access runs to the end of the paid period.
- Limited refunds. Its refund policy (last updated June 4, 2026) says fees are generally non-refundable. A refund is considered only when the app “does not work on your system,” you ask within 14 days of the charge, and you send a screen recording of the problem. Change of mind and employer device restrictions are not eligible.
OphyAI has no $9 plan: the Basic plan was retired in July 2026, so pages that show Basic at $9, Pro at $19 or Premium at $39 are out of date (current pricing). To see every major copilot’s price in one table, use our AI interview copilot pricing comparison.
What Interview Solver Does Well
- Cheaper than OphyAI Premium for coding help over a quarter. Interview Cycle at $149 for 3 months works out to about $50 a month, below OphyAI Premium at $59 a month, which is the OphyAI plan that includes Coding Interview. During the sale, $90 for 3 months is cheaper still.
- No published usage meter. The paid cards list features, not caps. OphyAI uses credits: Coding Interview is 15 credits per session and a Standard or Technical Copilot session is 15 credits.
- A free trial with no card. Ten desktop messages are enough to check that screenshots read cleanly on your setup.
- Built around the coding round. Commented code, short reasoning, flowcharts for system design and document upload are all aimed at one job.
- Phone option. Interview Solver Mobile works in Safari or Chrome with no install, which helps when you cannot install software. It only hears sound through the phone microphone, and the transcript is not saved.
Limitations and Watch-Outs
- Coding-first scope. Its own comparison page says it may not be for you if “You only need help with non-technical interviews (behavioral, HR).” Mobile answers any topic, but the desktop product is built for coding problems.
- No preparation layer. No scored mock interviews, resume builder or job search.
- Refunds are narrow. Outside a verified technical failure within 14 days, fees are not refunded.
- Unpublished basics. No AI model names, language lists or Windows minimum are published.
- Detection claims carry the vendor’s own caveats. Interview Solver markets the app as invisible to screen sharing and proctored tests. Its own docs limit that to Zoom 6.16 or earlier and warn that, because of an Electron bug, some WebRTC screen-sharing tools “may be able to see Interview Solver on MacOS while sharing your full screen.” Several features are pitched at getting around assessment monitoring. We have not tested this; using it where the employer forbids AI can end your candidacy. Check the rules in our companies that allow AI in interviews tracker and ask the recruiter when unsure.
Interview Solver vs OphyAI
| Checked Oct 19, 2026 | Interview Solver | OphyAI |
|---|---|---|
| Live coding help | Core product: screenshot to commented code, reasoning, flowcharts | Coding Interview (Premium, 15 credits): screenshot the problem, get a streamed approach and code, live coding and system design |
| Other live rounds | Mobile answers any topic; desktop is coding-first | Interview Copilot: real-time answer suggestions on Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet, live transcript, 35 languages |
| Practice | Free question pages; no scored mocks | Interview Practice: voice or text mocks with follow-ups, transcript and per-answer feedback |
| Resume and applications | Free ATS checker and bullet generator | Resume Builder, Application Assistant (16 tools), free Application Tracker |
| Price | $59 a month or $149 per 3 months; sale $39 or $90 until Oct 28 | Pro $29 a month; Premium $59 a month; annual Pro $278, Premium $566 |
| Free access | 10 desktop messages plus a 10-minute phone session | First Copilot session up to 15 minutes for eligible new users, no card |
| Platform | Mac and Windows desktop app; phone browser mode | Web, plus Mac and Windows desktop apps; iPhone and Android apps for practice |
Where OphyAI is the better fit:
- Every round, not just coding. Interview Copilot covers recruiter and behavioral rounds live, and Interview Practice lets you rehearse them first.
- One interview, smaller bill. Where offered, a $9.99 Interview Pass covers one Standard Copilot session up to 2 hours (passes cover Interview Copilot only, not Coding Interview). Interview Solver’s shortest paid option is one month.
- Desktop or browser. The OphyAI desktop app runs on Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel, signed and notarized by Apple) and Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) and Windows 11, 64-bit, from the download page. The web app needs no install.
On screen sharing: in OphyAI’s desktop app, the operating system excludes the live answer window from screen sharing and screen recording, so Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams do not show it. That does not hide it from a camera pointed at your screen, a person in the room, or proctoring software that inspects running apps, and in the web app what shows depends on your setup. Follow the employer’s rules.
How to Decide
- List your rounds. If everything left is coding and system design, Interview Solver is built for that. If a behavioral or recruiter round is coming, OphyAI covers it.
- Count the months. A 3-month search favors Interview Solver’s Interview Cycle. A single interview favors OphyAI’s free session or $9.99 pass.
- Use the trials. Spend Interview Solver’s 10 messages on a practice problem with your real setup; take OphyAI’s free Copilot session on a mock call.
- Read the policies. Check its refund rules before paying, and read is using an interview copilot ethical or cheating.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Interview Solver legit?
Yes, it is a real paid product from Interview Solver, Inc., with Terms updated April 18, 2026, a refund policy updated June 4, 2026, and support at hello@interviewsolver.com. Its Terms say it “does not guarantee interview success.” Its marketing quotes and success claims are unattributed, so judge it on the free trial instead.
How much does Interview Solver cost?
On October 19, 2026, Monthly was $59 a month and Interview Cycle was $149 every 3 months, about $50 a month. An October sale showed $39 a month and $90 for 3 months until October 28, 2026, with the price kept while you stay subscribed. Both plans include the same features and no published usage cap.
Does Interview Solver have a free trial?
Yes. Signing up with no credit card gives the desktop app 10 free AI messages. Interview Solver Mobile has a separate one-time 10-minute session per account, and that timer keeps running through pauses and reloads once you start listening. You are not charged until you choose a paid plan at checkout.
Can I get a refund from Interview Solver?
Only in narrow cases. Its refund policy says paid fees are generally non-refundable, including mid-cycle cancellations. A refund is considered only if the app does not work on your system, you contact support within 14 days of the charge, and you send a screen recording showing the problem. Employer device restrictions do not qualify.
Does Interview Solver work on Mac and Windows?
Yes. It is a native desktop app for macOS and Windows, and its site code links a Windows ARM64 build as well as x64. Its docs ask Mac users to run Sonoma 14.7.1 or later; no Windows minimum is published. Interview Solver Mobile runs in Safari or Chrome on a phone with no install.
Does Interview Solver help with behavioral interviews?
Partly. Its phone mode answers any topic, and its software engineer use-case page mentions behavioral help, but its own comparison page says it may not suit people who only need behavioral or HR help. For behavioral rounds, OphyAI Interview Copilot gives real-time answer suggestions on Zoom, Teams and Google Meet, and Interview Practice runs mock rounds with feedback.
Is Interview Solver better than OphyAI for coding interviews?
For a multi-month coding-only search, Interview Solver can cost less: $149 for 3 months against OphyAI Premium at $59 a month. OphyAI is the better fit when you also face behavioral rounds, want mock interviews and resume tools, or need help for one interview. Neither publishes an accuracy benchmark, so try both free options first.
