Two cautions. LockedIn’s own pages give inconsistent user and language counts, so we repeat none; Trustpilot shows no LockedIn rating and says it is “unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines.” Interview Sidekick’s homepage shows “4.8 from 2,500+ reviews” without naming a source, and its Trustpilot profile says it has not invited customers recently, so reviews may not be representative.

Pricing Compared

Prices are from each vendor’s rendered pricing page, checked September 29, 2026. Both were running site-wide 50% promotions (LockedIn with a code and countdown, Interview Sidekick with code SAVE50), so the struck-through prices in brackets could return. We did not go through checkout, so tax is not confirmed.

What the plans include: LockedIn Unlimited General has no session count but caps each session at 2 hours, and Duo and Stealth Mode come on every paid plan except General. Interview Sidekick’s homepage card lists unlimited real-time assistance, unlimited mock practice, Stealth Mode, Code Mode and a question bank on its single paid plan,.

In real money (our arithmetic): one month of LockedIn General is $54.99 against $80, a gap of $25.01; three months is $119.97 against $159. App-store prices cost more at LockedIn: iPhone Unlimited Monthly was $139.99 against $54.99 on the web.

Refunds: LockedIn’s policy (updated September 17, 2026) says monthly and quarterly plans are “Non-refundable once started,” yet its pricing page shows a “Money-back guarantee” badge that no page defines. Interview Sidekick’s FAQ says “We do not offer refunds” and “all sales are final.” Both make free testing the only real safety net. LockedIn auto-renews subscriptions and you cancel in the web app; Interview Sidekick’s terms (last updated July 29, 2024) describe auto-renewal while its quarterly option is sold as a one-time charge.

Where LockedIn AI Is the Better Choice

Price for a month or a quarter. $54.99 a month, or $39.99 a month equivalent billed every 3 months, is under Interview Sidekick’s $80 and $159 per 90 days.

A longer free tier. Up to 60 free minutes a day in 5-minute sessions gives far more hands-on time than 2-minute tests, though LockedIn’s own pages describe the free tier differently and the limits can change.

More ways to run it, and a human helper. LockedIn ships Windows and macOS apps, iPhone and Android apps, a Chrome extension and a VS Code and Cursor extension, and Duo lets a trusted person see your screen and send tips. Interview Sidekick lists no Duo equivalent.

Wider coding and assessment coverage on paper. LockedIn lists LeetCode, HackerRank, CodeSignal, CoderPad, HackerEarth, Codility and InterviewBit, plus HireVue-style assessments. We could not confirm any as official integrations.

Watch-outs: monthly and quarterly plans are non-refundable, no single-session product exists, and its Trustpilot rating is unavailable. More in our LockedIn AI review and LockedIn AI alternatives.

Where Interview Sidekick Is the Better Choice

One flat plan with everything on it. Code Mode, Stealth Mode, unlimited real-time sessions and unlimited mocks sit on a single paid plan, with no tiers to compare.

A 90-day pass that does not auto-renew. For a job search of about three months, $159 once (about $53 a month) means no renewal to cancel.

Repeatable free tests and more meeting apps. Unlimited 2-minute tests let you check your audio setup as often as you like, and it lists Webex, Lark/Feishu and Amazon Chime on top of Zoom, Teams and Meet.

Watch-outs: no refunds, a desktop app that needs macOS 14 or newer on Mac for interviewer audio and Google sign-in, Zoom needing “Advanced capture with window filtering” for Stealth Mode, 31 languages, and no resume or job-application tools. It markets Stealth Mode as invisible on screen share, which we cannot verify. See our Interview Sidekick review and Interview Sidekick alternatives.

A Third Option: OphyAI

We make OphyAI, so weigh this section with that in mind. OphyAI’s Interview Copilot shows a live transcript and streamed answer suggestions on Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet in 35 languages. It runs on the web with nothing to install or in the Mac and Windows desktop apps, and the iPhone and Android apps cover practice and job-search tools. The same account includes Interview Practice (voice or text mock interviews with per-answer feedback), a Resume Builder, Application Assistant and a free Application Tracker.

  • Free: a first Standard Interview Copilot session up to 15 minutes for eligible new users, no card.
  • Paid: Pro $29 a month (300 credits, about 20 Standard Copilot sessions). Premium $59 a month (500 credits) adds Coding Interview. Annual billing is 20% off: Pro $278 a year, Premium $566 a year.
  • One interview: a $9.99 Interview Pass covers one Standard Copilot session up to 2 hours ($19.99 for 3), where offered.
  • Old numbers: OphyAI has no $9 plan. The Basic plan was retired in July 2026, and some third-party articles still show the old $9, $19 and $39 prices.

Where it falls short: LockedIn gives more total free minutes, Interview Sidekick’s free tests are repeatable, and credits cap OphyAI Pro at about 20 Standard sessions a month where both rivals’ paid plans are unlimited by session count. See the best AI interview copilots. Start practicing →

How to Decide

  1. Count your interviews and your weeks. A short, intense search of about three months suits Interview Sidekick’s 90-day pass. A busy month or one-off use is cheaper on LockedIn General at September 2026 prices. One or two interviews points to OphyAI’s Interview Pass.
  2. Match the setup to your laptop. Check OS minimums (Windows 10+, macOS 13.1+) against Interview Sidekick’s (macOS 14+ for interviewer audio, Google sign-in).
  3. Test before paying. Both rivals have free tiers with no card, and OphyAI’s free 15-minute session takes no card either. Test your language and accent, since neither rival publishes accuracy by language.
  4. Read the refund rule first. LockedIn monthly and quarterly plans are non-refundable once started; Interview Sidekick refunds nothing.
  5. Check the employer’s rules. Some employers ban outside tools. Ask your recruiter, see our tracker of companies that allow AI in interviews, and compare more tools in the alternatives hub and our pricing comparison.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is better, LockedIn AI or Interview Sidekick?

It depends on how long you will use it. LockedIn AI had the lower monthly price on September 29, 2026 ($54.99 against $80) and adds Duo, scored mock reports and apps on more devices. Interview Sidekick bundles Code Mode, Stealth Mode and unlimited mocks on one plan and sells a 90-day pass that does not auto-renew.

Is LockedIn AI cheaper than Interview Sidekick?

For a month or a quarter, yes. LockedIn’s Unlimited General plan was $54.99 a month, or $39.99 a month equivalent billed every 3 months, while Interview Sidekick showed $80 a month or $159 per 90 days. Both prices were promotional on the check date, and neither vendor showed an annual plan.

Do LockedIn AI and Interview Sidekick have free plans?

Yes, both, with no credit card. LockedIn’s help center lists unlimited 5-minute sessions, up to 60 free minutes a day, though its AI Copilot page says 10 minutes and the limits can change. Interview Sidekick offers unlimited free 2-minute test sessions with the full real-time assistant, plus limited prep access.

Can I get a refund from LockedIn AI or Interview Sidekick?

Almost never. LockedIn’s refund policy, updated September 17, 2026, says monthly and quarterly plans are non-refundable once started, with a partial refund on annual plans within 7 days. Interview Sidekick’s FAQ says it does not offer refunds and all sales are final, so test on the free tier before paying.

Which has more languages?

LockedIn’s pages disagree, giving 42, 45+, 50+, 99+ and “over 100” depending on the page, so we cannot give one number. Interview Sidekick’s FAQ states 31 languages for live transcription and AI answers. Neither publishes accuracy by language, so test your language and accent in a free session first.

Do both work on Zoom, Teams and Google Meet?

Yes, both name Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. LockedIn captures system audio and also lists Skype. Interview Sidekick adds Webex, Lark/Feishu, Amazon Chime and Skype, and its FAQ says Zoom needs a capture-mode change for Stealth Mode. Neither describes an official integration with each app, so test your call platform.
