Interview Sidekick Review 2026: Is It Good? Pricing, Pros and Cons
Is Interview Sidekick good? A fair September 2026 Interview Sidekick review: $80 a month on promo, free 2-minute tests, no refunds, and who it suits best.
Last updated: September 2026
Quick Answer and Verdict: Is Interview Sidekick Good?
Yes, Interview Sidekick is good if you want unlimited live interview help, but it is not cheap: on September 29, 2026 its only paid plan showed $80 a month to US visitors, labelled 50% off $160 with code SAVE50. Its FAQ says it does not offer refunds and points buyers to its free 2-minute tests instead.
Who it fits: candidates with many interviews in a short window who want unlimited sessions, Code Mode for coding rounds and a 10,000+ question bank on one flat plan, or a 90-day pass that does not auto-renew. Who it does not fit: anyone covering one or two interviews, anyone who wants its desktop app on a Mac older than macOS 14 or without a Google account, and anyone who also wants resume or application tools. For that group, OphyAI Interview Copilot plus Interview Practice is the cheaper path.

What Interview Sidekick Is
Interview Sidekick is a real-time AI interview assistant with built-in prep tools, operated by Cover Letter Copilot, LLC according to its llms.txt file. It transcribes the interviewer’s questions and suggests answers using your resume. Its homepage splits the product into Before (AI practice, company-specific questions, mock interviews), During (real-time answers, live coding help, Stealth Mode) and After (saved transcripts, performance feedback).
| Detail | What its own site says |
|---|---|
| How it hears the call | Desktop app captures system audio; Chrome “Dual Tab” shares your meeting tab’s audio; a phone listens to your laptop speaker |
| Platforms | Desktop app for Apple Silicon Macs, Intel Macs and Windows (version 0.3.18); Chrome; iOS and Android phone browsers (“No app needed”) |
| Requirements | macOS 14 (Sonoma) or newer to capture interviewer audio; desktop sign-in with Google only, for now |
| Meeting apps listed | Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, Skype, Lark/Feishu, Amazon Chime |
| Languages | 31 (English US and UK count separately) |
| Coding | Screenshot-based Code Capture for hints and solution strategies, alongside CoderPad, HackerRank, LeetCode and CodeSignal |
| Resume context | Up to 8,000 characters |
Interview Sidekick Pricing (Checked September 29, 2026)
Interview Sidekick pricing has two plans: Basic Sidekick (free) and Ultimate Sidekick (paid), sold monthly or as a 90-day pass. Its homepage banner and pricing page advertised 50% off with code SAVE50, and a US visitor saw these prices.
| Plan | Price (USD) | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Basic Sidekick | $0, “Free forever”, no card | Unlimited 2-minute test sessions of the real-time assistant, limited prep and question bank |
| Ultimate Sidekick, monthly | $80 a month, shown as 50% off a struck-through $160 | Unlimited real-time assistance and mock practice, 10,000+ question bank, Stealth Mode, Code Mode, transcripts and feedback, the desktop app |
| Ultimate Sidekick, 90 days | $159 (shown as $53 a month), 50% off a struck-through $318 | Same as monthly; a “One-time charge” that “does not auto-renew” |
Three details matter before you buy:
- The page does not say whether $80 is before or after the code. It shows “$80” beside a struck-through “$160”, then “Apply code SAVE50 at checkout for 50% off.” We did not go through checkout.
- Regional prices differ. The homepage says “Discounted plans available in select regions,” and its llms.txt says “from $30/month.” A US visitor saw $80.
- No annual plan, single-session purchase or extended trial is listed. The FAQ says: “We don’t offer extended trials or one-day subscriptions at this time.”
You can cancel in account settings and keep access to the end of the billing period. For one interview, the smallest purchase is a month at $80; ten interviews that month works out to $8 each.
What Interview Sidekick Does Well
- Unlimited use on one flat plan. Unlimited real-time sessions and mock practice, and the FAQ adds “No time limit on recordings.” You never count credits.
- Several ways to connect. Chrome with Dual Tab, a phone browser for phone screens, and seven listed meeting apps, including Webex and Amazon Chime.
- Coding help in the one paid plan. Code Mode is included. OphyAI keeps Coding Interview on its $59 Premium plan.
- A large question bank. 10,000+ questions on the homepage; the FAQ says 11,000+ across 1,200+ companies.
- Repeatable free tests. Unlimited 2-minute sessions, no card, so you can check your audio setup as often as you like.
- A 90-day pass that ends on its own. The $159 option does not auto-renew, which suits a job search with an end date.
Limitations and Watch-Outs
- Price. $80 a month is almost three times OphyAI Pro’s $29, even at the promotional rate.
- No refunds. The FAQ says “We do not offer refunds” and “all sales are final,” pointing buyers to the free tests. For technical problems, it asks you to email support.
- A short free test. Each free test session is capped at 2 minutes, so you cannot try a full-length interview before paying.
- Stealth Mode is desktop-only. The FAQ says Zoom needs “Advanced capture with window filtering” switched on, and that its overlay “does not defeat dedicated lockdown browsers.” It markets Stealth Mode as invisible on screen share; we have not tested that claim.
- Phone mode can mix voices. The FAQ says the AI “may occasionally pick up your responses as well” and suggests muting its microphone while you speak.
- Long resumes get cut. Past 8,000 characters, a resume “may be truncated.”
- Legal pages from 2024. The Terms of Service (July 29, 2024) describe subscriptions that renew each cycle unless cancelled. The Privacy Policy (July 24, 2024) says “Data may not be deleted upon request unless mandated by law.”
- No job-search tools. No resume builder, cover letter tool, job search or application tracker appears in its navigation or sitemap.
- Thin public reviews. Trustpilot (third-party) showed 3.9 from 7 reviews (86% five-star, 14% one-star), noting the company “hasn’t invited customers recently, so reviews may not be representative.” The homepage’s “4.8 from 2,500+ reviews” does not name a source.
Interview Sidekick vs OphyAI
| Interview Sidekick | OphyAI | |
|---|---|---|
| Live help | Desktop app, Chrome (Dual Tab), phone browser | Browser-based on Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet, with a live transcript and the Whisper Mode overlay; nothing to install |
| Languages | 31 | 35 |
| Coding rounds | Code Mode, in the paid plan | Coding Interview (Premium): screenshot the problem, get a streamed approach, complexity notes and code |
| Practice | Mock interviews (record-and-review or live voice), question bank | Interview Practice: voice or text mocks with follow-ups, a transcript and per-answer feedback |
| Job-search tools | None listed | Resume Builder, Application Assistant (16 tools), Job Search (Pro and Premium), free Application Tracker |
| Monthly price | $80 promo (list $160), unlimited | Pro $29 (300 credits), Premium $59 (500 credits) |
| Longer commitment | $159 per 90 days, no auto-renew | Annual billing 20% off (Pro $278 a year, Premium $566 a year) |
| One interview | No single-session product | $9.99 Interview Pass where offered |
To be fair, Interview Sidekick’s plan is unlimited and OphyAI’s is not: Pro’s 300 credits cover about 20 Standard Copilot sessions of up to 2 hours each. OphyAI has no $9 plan; the Basic plan was retired in July 2026, so pages showing a $9 Basic plan, Pro at $19 or Premium at $39 are out of date. Current plans are on the pricing page, and the full side-by-side is on our OphyAI vs Interview Sidekick comparison.
How to Decide
- Count your interviews. One or two: a $9.99 OphyAI Interview Pass (where offered) covers one Standard Copilot session up to 2 hours, far less than a month of Interview Sidekick. Up to about 20 a month: OphyAI Pro at $29 covers them. More, or you would rather not count: Interview Sidekick’s unlimited plan fits.
- Check your computer. Rather not install anything? Both run in a browser: Interview Sidekick via Chrome Dual Tab, OphyAI with its Whisper Mode overlay.
- Decide whether you need practice feedback. If rambling or freezing is the real problem, practice fixes the cause. See AI interview coach vs AI interview copilot.
- Test before you pay. With no refunds, run Interview Sidekick’s 2-minute test on the exact meeting app your interview will use.
- Check the employer’s rules. Ask the recruiter what is allowed and follow it. See is using an interview copilot ethical or cheating.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Interview Sidekick good?
Interview Sidekick is a good choice for heavy interviewers: one paid plan covers unlimited real-time sessions, unlimited mock practice, Code Mode and a 10,000+ question bank. The trade-offs are price ($80 a month on promotion for US visitors on September 29, 2026), no refunds, a 2-minute free test and no resume or application tools.
How much does Interview Sidekick cost?
On September 29, 2026, Interview Sidekick pricing for a US visitor was $80 a month for Ultimate Sidekick, shown as 50% off a $160 list price with code SAVE50, or $159 for 90 days (list $318) as a one-time charge that does not auto-renew. Basic Sidekick is free. Lower prices apply in select regions, and no annual plan was listed.
Is Interview Sidekick free?
Partly. Basic Sidekick is free forever with no credit card, and the FAQ says every user gets unlimited 2-minute test sessions of the full real-time assistant. Prep and the question bank are limited, and unlimited session time plus full access to Stealth Mode and the desktop app need a paid plan: $80 a month or $159 for 90 days.
Does Interview Sidekick offer refunds?
No. Its FAQ says “We do not offer refunds” and “all sales are final,” because every user can run free 2-minute test sessions before subscribing. If a technical problem stops it working, the FAQ asks you to email support. You can cancel any time in account settings and keep access until the end of the billing period.
Does Interview Sidekick work with Zoom, Teams and Google Meet?
Yes, per its own site, which lists Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, Skype, Lark/Feishu and Amazon Chime. It hears the call through its Mac or Windows app, a shared Chrome tab or a phone near your laptop speaker. Its FAQ says Zoom needs “Advanced capture with window filtering” on for Stealth Mode, and the Mac app needs macOS 14 or newer to capture interviewer audio.
What is a cheaper alternative to Interview Sidekick?
For most US job seekers, OphyAI costs less per month: Pro is $29 with 300 credits (about 20 Standard Copilot sessions of up to 2 hours) and Premium is $59 with 500 credits plus Coding Interview. For one interview, OphyAI’s $9.99 Interview Pass, where offered, covers a Standard session up to 2 hours. Interview Sidekick still wins on unlimited use.
Can I use Interview Sidekick in a real job interview?
That depends on the employer, not the tool. Rules differ by company, role and round, and some employers state that outside AI help during an interview is not allowed. Ask the recruiter what is permitted and follow their answer. Where live help is not allowed, use mock interviews or OphyAI Interview Practice beforehand instead.
