LockedIn AI ships native desktop apps for Windows 10 and above and macOS 13.1 and above (one universal build for Apple Silicon and Intel), and its Stealth Mode runs only in those desktop apps and only on paid plans other than Unlimited General. The OphyAI desktop app runs on Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel) and on Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) and Windows 11, 64-bit, with live Interview Copilot answers during Zoom, Teams and Google Meet interviews, plus practice tools in the same account.

We make OphyAI, so weigh our side accordingly. LockedIn facts come from its own pages, checked September 29, 2026; we could not reopen them on October 15, 2026, so check before you install.

Quick Answer and Quick Verdict

Pick the LockedIn AI desktop app if you want unlimited sessions, a human helper (Duo) on your screen, or extensions for Chrome, VS Code and Cursor, and you are on macOS 13.1 or newer. Pick the OphyAI desktop app if you want live interview answers plus mock practice, resume and application tools in one account, or a lower monthly price. Both hear the call through system audio.

Installing Each Desktop App

The LockedIn AI desktop app

  • OS minimums. LockedIn’s FAQ says “Windows: Win 10 and above. MacOS: MacOS 13.1 and above.” (its help center says 13.0 Ventura). The Mac build is universal, for Apple Silicon and Intel.
  • How it hears the interview. LockedIn says it “captures system audio to identify interview content”.
  • Stealth Mode and Duo need the desktop app and the right plan. LockedIn’s help center calls the desktop app “the only place with Stealth Mode”, and its billing docs say “Duo and Stealth Mode are available on every paid plan except General.” So Unlimited General ($54.99 a month) gets neither; Credits, Unlimited Professional and Lifetime get both. We have not tested Stealth Mode and do not repeat LockedIn’s claims about it.
  • Cancel on the web, not in the desktop app.

The LockedIn AI web app, extensions and phone apps

  • Web app. Runs in Chrome, Edge, Chromium, Opera and Brave. On a Mac the FAQ says “MacOS: Can only share the chrome tabs”, so a Zoom or Teams desktop-client interview needs the desktop app.
  • Extensions. A Chrome extension (Ctrl/Command + Shift + U captures your screen for AI image analysis) and a VS Code and Cursor extension.
  • Phone apps. The iPhone app is “Only for iPhone” and requires iOS 17.0 or later; the Android app is on Google Play. Its mobile page leads with voice mock interviews; Stealth Mode and Duo are not on mobile. In-app prices are higher than web prices (iPhone Unlimited Monthly $139.99 vs $54.99 on the web).

The OphyAI desktop app

  • OS minimums. Mac on Apple Silicon or Intel, signed and notarized by Apple; Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) and Windows 11, 64-bit. Get it from the OphyAI download page; features are on the desktop app page.
  • The Windows prompt. The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows may show “Windows protected your PC”: choose More info, then Run anyway.
  • How it hears the interview. Through system audio, with no virtual audio cable.
  • Screen sharing. The live answer window is excluded from screen sharing and screen recording by the operating system, so Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams do not show it, even on a full-screen share. The limits: that does not hide it from a camera pointed at the screen, a person in the room, or proctoring software that inspects running apps. See how Zoom, Teams and Meet handle overlay apps during screen share.
  • Controls. Hotkeys: Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Space show or hide, Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+A ask AI now, Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+P click-through, Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+H panic hide. Four layouts: Teleprompter, Panel, Split Desk and Q&A Feed.
  • Web app. At app.ophyai.com, with no install, live suggestions appear in Whisper Mode, a browser overlay.
  • Phone apps. iPhone (iOS 15.1 or later) and Android apps for practice interviews, resumes, cover letters, job search and application tracking. They are not live interview copilots.

Before the real call, run a mock in Interview Practice.

Where LockedIn AI Is a Better Fit

  • Unlimited sessions. Unlimited plans have no session count, though each session is capped at 120 minutes. If you expect more than about 20 interviews a month, that matters.
  • Duo. A trusted person sees your screen, hears the interview audio and sends text, code and tips. OphyAI has no human-helper feature.
  • Extensions. A Chrome extension and a VS Code and Cursor extension. OphyAI has neither.
  • More named coding platforms. LockedIn lists HackerEarth, Codility and InterviewBit alongside LeetCode, HackerRank, CodeSignal and CoderPad, Its help center describes a screenshot workflow, not an official integration.
  • More free minutes and a Lifetime option. Up to 60 free minutes a day in 5-minute sessions, and a $999.50 one-time plan.

Where OphyAI Is a Better Fit

  • Older iPhones for practice. OphyAI’s iPhone app needs iOS 15.1 or later; LockedIn’s needs iOS 17.0.
  • Screen-share exclusion by the OS. The desktop answer window is excluded from screen sharing by the operating system (not from a camera, a person in the room, or proctoring software); check the employer’s rules.
  • Interview prep beyond the live call. Interview Practice, Resume Builder, Application Assistant, Job Search and the free Application Tracker share one account.
  • Lower entry price. Pro is $29 a month; a $9.99 Interview Pass covers one Standard session up to 2 hours where offered.

Pricing Compared

US dollars. LockedIn prices checked September 29, 2026, and shown then as 50% off a standard price; OphyAI prices current in October 2026. Prices change, check before you buy. The full LockedIn breakdown is in our LockedIn AI review.

The cheapest LockedIn plan with Stealth Mode is Credits: $69.99 a month, or $49.99 a month billed every 3 months. There is no $9 OphyAI plan: Basic was retired in July 2026, so pages showing it, or Pro at $19 and Premium at $39, are out of date. A Standard Copilot session uses 15 credits, so Pro covers about 20 sessions. For every rival side by side, see the AI interview copilot pricing comparison.

How to Decide

  1. Check your OS. macOS older than 13 rules out LockedIn’s desktop app. Windows 10 before version 2004 rules out OphyAI’s.
  2. Check the rules. Ask the recruiter whether AI help is allowed, and read our list of companies that allow AI in interviews.
  3. Pick by need. Unlimited sessions, Duo or editor extensions: LockedIn. Live help plus practice and applications at a lower price: OphyAI.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a LockedIn AI desktop app for Mac and Windows?

Yes. LockedIn’s FAQ lists Windows 10 and above and macOS 13.1 and above, and LockedIn says the Mac app is a universal build for Apple Silicon and Intel (checked September 29, 2026). Its help center gives macOS 13.0 Ventura as the floor instead, so check your exact version before you download.

Which LockedIn AI plans include Stealth Mode?

Per LockedIn’s billing docs, every paid plan except Unlimited General: that means Credits, Unlimited Professional and Lifetime. Stealth Mode also runs only in the Windows and macOS desktop apps, not the web app or phone apps. We have not tested it and do not repeat LockedIn’s claims about what it hides.

Can I use LockedIn AI without downloading anything?

Yes, through the web app in Chrome, Edge, Chromium, Opera or Brave. On a Mac, though, LockedIn’s FAQ says the web app can only share Chrome tabs, so an interview in the Zoom or Teams desktop client needs the desktop app. The web app also has no Stealth Mode or Duo.

Does the LockedIn AI phone app give live interview help?

LockedIn’s mobile page leads with voice mock interviews and says Stealth Mode and remote assist are Windows and macOS only; the iPhone app needs iOS 17.0 or later. OphyAI’s iPhone and Android apps are for practice, resumes, cover letters, job search and tracking, not live help.

Is the OphyAI desktop app hidden from screen sharing?

The live answer window is excluded from screen sharing and screen recording by the operating system, so Zoom, Meet and Teams do not show it, even on a full-screen share. It is not hidden from a camera pointed at the screen, a person in the room, or proctoring software that inspects running apps. Check the employer’s rules first.

Why does Windows warn me when I install OphyAI?

The Windows installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows may show “Windows protected your PC.” Choose More info, then Run anyway, and only download from ophyai.com/download. The Mac app, for Apple Silicon and Intel, is signed and notarized by Apple.

Do I need a virtual audio cable for either app?

No. LockedIn says it captures system audio, and the OphyAI desktop app hears the interviewer through system audio with no virtual audio cable. Run a full test call on Zoom, Teams or Meet with a friend before the real interview, so you know the audio is picked up.
