Last updated: September 2026
Quick Answer and Verdict: Cluely or Parakeet for Interviews?
For job interviews, Parakeet AI has more interview-specific tools, while Cluely is the far cheaper general meeting assistant. On September 29, 2026, Cluely Pro cost $19.99 a month for unlimited AI responses, while Parakeet AI’s Unlimited plan cost $149.90 a month (or $38 for a single credit, which buys 60 minutes of calls).
Parakeet AI lists an interview mode that uses your resume, AI mock interviews, 50+ languages, and 10 free sessions with no card. Cluely wins on price, meeting notes and its iPhone app, but its own refund article says Cluely “is for meeting assistance across sales, project briefs, and support,” and its help center lists 6 languages for audio input.

| Interview setup | No interview mode listed; “Modes” hold custom context and files such as resumes | Interview mode uses your CV; paste a job description into Instructions |

| Meeting apps named | Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, Slack calls | Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, Lark, Amazon Chime; phone calls over Google Voice |

Pricing Compared
Parakeet AI showed no promotion on September 29, 2026.
| Plan shape | Cluely | Parakeet AI |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Starter: limited AI responses and notes, up to 3 files; limits reset every 24 hours | 10 call sessions up to 10 minutes (a new one every 12 minutes) plus one 10-minute mock; no card |
| Weekly | iPhone app only: $8 a week on its pricing page ($7.99 on the App Store) | Unlimited $78.00 a week |
| Monthly | Pro $19.99; Pro + Undetectability $149.99 | Unlimited $149.90 |
| Yearly | Pro $11.99 a month billed annually ($143.88); Pro + Undetectability $44.99 a month ($539.88) | Unlimited $599.90 a year |
| Pay as you go | None listed | 1 credit $38.00; 3 for $59.00; 8 for $118.00; 15 for $177.00. 0.5 credit per 30 minutes; credits never expire |
Pro + Undetectability is the plan Cluely sells for hiding the app from screen sharing; its help center says Cluely is visible to screen share by default and lists exceptions, such as Microsoft Teams entire-screen sharing. Parakeet AI markets the same idea. We did not test either claim.
What that means in real money:
- One 45-minute interview: a month of Cluely Pro is $19.99. On Parakeet AI, 45 minutes uses two 30-minute blocks, which is 1 credit, or $38 (free sessions stop at 10 minutes).
- A month of interviews: Cluely Pro $19.99 vs Parakeet AI Unlimited $149.90, or 15 hours of credits for $177.
- A year: Cluely Pro $143.88 vs Parakeet AI Unlimited $599.90.
Refunds are tight at both. Cluely’s help center (updated March 5, 2026) offers a 24-hour refund only for “system-level restrictions” where the app does not work on your computer. Parakeet AI’s terms allow a refund within 7 days only for accidental or unused purchases, with no partial refunds for unused credits.
Where Cluely Is the Better Choice
You want the lowest price. Cluely Pro is about $130 a month cheaper than Parakeet AI Unlimited, or $11.99 a month on an annual plan, with unlimited AI responses and meeting notes.
Most of your calls are not interviews. Cluely takes notes, writes recaps and drafts follow-up emails without joining your calls as a bot, which suits sales calls and client meetings.
You want a phone app for in-person conversations. The iPhone app is rated 4.7 from 552 App Store ratings, though Cluely’s help center says it “DOES NOT assist with phone calls or mobile video conferencing calls yet.”
Watch-outs: Windows 11 only, 6 audio-input languages, no pro-rata refunds, and a Trustpilot score of 1.7 from 22 reviews on an unclaimed profile.
Where Parakeet AI Is the Better Choice
Interviews are the main job. Interview mode uses your CV plus any documents and Instructions you add (a full job description is fine), and Auto Answer detects questions live and suggests answers.
You want to test a live session free. Ten free sessions of up to 10 minutes each, plus a free 10-minute mock, with no card. Cluely does not publish its exact free limits.
You want practice built in. An AI interviewer speaks, listens and asks follow-ups while Parakeet drafts answers, and the transcript is saved. Paid mocks run 30 minutes for 0.5 credit, in a desktop browser only. The mock page does not describe scored or per-answer feedback.
You interview in another language. Parakeet AI lists 50+ languages. Cluely’s help center lists English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese for audio input.
Your setup is unusual. Parakeet AI runs in desktop Chrome (covering Linux), takes phone interviews over Google Voice, and lets you pick Gemini, GPT or Claude models per session.
Watch-outs: $149.90 a month, or $38 for a single credit, costs far more than Cluely Pro, refunds cover unused purchases only, there is no native phone app yet, and the Question Bank is still marked coming soon.
A Third Option: OphyAI
We make OphyAI, so weigh this accordingly. OphyAI is a browser-based AI job-search platform with more than 50,000 users; nothing to install. Its Interview Copilot works on Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet: a live transcript of the interviewer’s questions and streamed answer suggestions based on your resume and the job description, in a private picture-in-picture overlay called Whisper Mode, in 35 languages. The same account includes Interview Practice (voice or text mock interviews with per-answer feedback), a Resume Builder, a 16-tool Application Assistant and a free Application Tracker.
- Free: a first Standard Interview Copilot session up to 15 minutes for eligible new users, no card, plus a one-time 5-credit grant that covers one Interview Practice session capped at 15 minutes.
- Paid: Pro $29 a month (300 credits, about 20 Standard Copilot sessions of up to 2 hours). Premium $59 a month (500 credits) adds Coding Interview. Annual billing is 20% off.
- One interview: a $9.99 Interview Pass covers one Standard Copilot session up to 2 hours ($19.99 for 3), no subscription, where offered.
- Old numbers: there is no $9 Basic plan (retired July 2026), and Pro $19 or Premium $39 figures seen elsewhere are out of date.
Where it falls short: Pro costs more than Cluely Pro and uses credits instead of unlimited responses, 35 languages is fewer than Parakeet AI’s 50+, and Parakeet AI’s free allowance adds up to more total minutes. How to Decide
- Name the job. Mostly meetings and notes: Cluely. Mostly interviews: Parakeet AI or a dedicated interview tool.
- Count your interviews. For one, compare $19.99 for a month of Cluely, $38 for a Parakeet AI credit and OphyAI’s $9.99 pass where offered. For a heavy month, Cluely Pro is cheapest.
- Check your setup. Cluely’s help center says it does not support Windows 10. Parakeet AI’s web version needs desktop Chrome.
- Check your language. Outside Cluely’s 6 audio languages, Parakeet AI’s 50+ is the safer bet.
- Read the refund rule first. 24 hours when the app does not work on your computer at Cluely, 7 days for unused purchases at Parakeet AI.
- Follow the employer’s rules. Parakeet AI’s terms bar use where AI assistance “is prohibited or required to be disclosed,” and it honors employer blocklist requests. Ask your recruiter, and read whether using an interview copilot is ethical.

Only in narrow cases. Cluely’s help center offers a 24-hour refund when the app does not work on your computer and excludes forgetting to cancel, plan changes and interview-software detection use cases; its cancellation policy rules out pro-rata refunds.
